The Mother
Catherine Stewart
Played by Desiree De Anda · Lead · Cast
A daughter of the royal Stewart line, and the bond between the Hamiltons and the crown.
Profile
Catherine Stewart was the daughter of Alexander Stewart, Duke of Albany, a son of King James II. Through her, Patrick and his siblings were close kin to the Scottish royal house.
Her place in the story is the family's heart: the home at Kincavil, and a mother's view of a son whose learning carried him far from it.
